Majestic Bay

Golden Gate Point is a compact peninsula extending into Sarasota Bay from the edge of downtown, its streets finished with brick pavers, underground utilities, and landscaped rights-of-way maintained through a city streetscape district. Majestic Bay stands at 258 Golden Gate Point, a ten-story tower completed in 2004 that rises about 120 feet over the water. The building takes a restrained approach for its setting: ten residences in total, one per floor, wrapped in expansive glass. Parking is secured beneath the building, and deep-water boat docks give residents direct access to Sarasota Bay. The small scale shows in everyday details — a private foyer instead of a shared corridor, a kayak launch a few steps from home, a heated pool and spa set beside the bay. The building is governed by the Majestic Bay Condominium Association, Inc., and more than twenty years after completion it holds a settled, established place among neighbors that range from mid-century originals to brand-new towers on the Point.

Each residence at Majestic Bay occupies its own floor, with plans running from roughly 2,700 to just over 3,000 square feet in two- and three-bedroom configurations. Arrival is part of the design: the elevator opens into a private foyer rather than a shared hallway, so the front door effectively belongs to the whole floor. Inside, layouts are open, with expansive glass drawing bay light across the main living areas and private terraces positioned toward the water for sunsets and passing boat traffic. Finishes include granite countertops and custom cabinetry, with generously sized bedrooms, walk-in closets, and baths with dual vanities and separate showers; every residence includes a full-size washer and dryer. What changes most from floor to floor is the view, which takes in Sarasota Bay and the downtown skyline and widens as you rise.

The amenity list is generous for a ten-residence building, and everything on it is shared among few neighbors. A heated pool and spa overlook the bay. Inside, there is a fitness center, a resident club room, and a library and media room, along with wine storage. On the water, deep-water boat docks offer direct Sarasota Bay access, and a kayak launch makes it easy to slip out for a paddle around the Point. Practical touches round it out: secured garage parking beneath the building, additional storage, a vehicle-wash area, and a roof deck. Pets are welcome within the association's limits — cats and dogs are allowed, with weight restrictions of about 45 pounds per animal.

Days at Majestic Bay tend to organize themselves around the water. Mornings might start with a kayak slipped in at the launch or coffee on a terrace watching boats move through the bay; afternoons find the heated pool and spa, or a walk around the Point's brick loop. With a deep-water dock below the building, getting out on Sarasota Bay is as simple as walking downstairs. Evenings pull toward downtown — dinner on Main Street, a performance at one of downtown's cultural venues, or the drive over the Ringling Bridge for sunset at Lido Key — before the peninsula settles back into its usual quiet.
