Evolution is the kind of building Golden Gate Point had been waiting for — a boutique condominium of just 20 residences at 111 Golden Gate Point, near the entrance to Sarasota's most storied peninsula. Developed by WB Golden Point, LLC and designed by Mark Sultana of Sarasota's own DSDG Architects, the building rises nine stories, with eight residential levels above secured ground-floor parking, its glass and clean lines a quiet counterpoint to the brick-paved streets below. The project took a longer road than most. First proposed in 2018 on a site once slated for a townhome project called Allure, it weathered a construction pause in 2022 while custom hurricane-impact windows made their way from overseas, with Gates Construction of Bonita Springs completing the work and the building delivering in early 2024. The wait shows in the details: floor-to-ceiling glass, generous terraces, and panoramic water views in nearly every direction. With only 20 homes, a full amenity program, and one of downtown Sarasota's most walkable waterfront settings, Evolution offers something that rarely comes along here — new construction where you can know every neighbor by name.

The 20 residences at Evolution span roughly 2,050 to just over 3,500 square feet across five floor plan types — Residences A, B, and C plus two penthouse plans — with three-, four-, and five-bedroom configurations. Interiors were finished to match the setting: Italian cabinetry, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, quartz countertops, high ceilings, and walls of floor-to-ceiling glass that pull the bay and city views inside. Every home opens to spacious balcony or terrace space, and the top-floor penthouse level is the building's showpiece — one penthouse was planned with roughly 3,000 square feet of private rooftop terrace, including its own pool. Practical details got equal attention: each residence comes with two secured garage parking spaces with access to EV charging, plus private storage.

For a 20-residence building, Evolution's amenity list runs long. Outdoors there is a resort-style lap pool with cabanas, a spa, a fire pit, and barbecue grills, along with a rooftop patio where a jacuzzi sits beneath open sky and bay views. Inside, owners have a fitness center, a yoga studio, a sauna, a club room, and a business meeting room. Two touches stand out as unusually thoughtful: a dog park paired with a pet grooming studio, and a dedicated car wash station in the garage. Concierge service rounds out the package. Pets are welcome — sources indicate two pets up to 60 pounds. One thing Evolution does not offer is private boat slips; the building sits on an interior Golden Gate Point lot with water views rather than direct dockage.

Life here has a rhythm built around the water. Mornings might mean a walk over the Ringling Bridge — the unofficial gym of this side of town — or a loop around the Point as sailboats slide out of the marina. Marina Jack anchors the bayfront with waterside dining and sunset cruises, and O'Leary's Tiki Bar keeps things barefoot-casual next door. Saturdays bring the downtown Sarasota Farmers Market a few blocks up Main Street, and evenings offer the Sarasota Opera, Florida Studio Theatre, and the galleries of the Rosemary District.
