Golden Bay

Golden Gate Point is a 22-acre peninsula that reaches into Sarasota Bay just west of downtown, and Golden Bay occupies one of its most open corners — the northwestern edge, where the water widens toward the Ringling Bridge. Completed in 2002, the building is a Mediterranean-inspired mid-rise holding only ten residences, arranged two to a floor so that every home spans from one side of the building toward the water. The ten residences follow a simple, generous logic: two per floor, each reached by elevator through a private lobby rather than a shared corridor. Eight of the homes measure approximately 2,130 square feet, while the two penthouse residences reach roughly 4,200 square feet, with dual balconies and private roof decks of their own. Outdoor living is a defining feature throughout the building — residences open onto deep porches, described at roughly 38 feet in length, oriented toward the bay and the marina beyond. Every home comes with a private two-car garage, and additional storage space is provided within the building. Because only ten owners share the structure, floor plans live like single-family homes set above the water: full-width living spaces, water views from the main rooms, and no neighbors on the other side of the wall in most directions.

Golden Bay's amenities are scaled to ten households and centered on the water. A heated swimming pool sits at the bayfront, looking across the open water toward the Ringling Bridge. At the seawall, a private fishing pier and a day dock give residents direct access to the bay — the day dock allows boats to pull in for loading and outings, while the pier is a place to cast a line or simply watch the light change. Days at Golden Bay are organized around the water. The heated pool at the seawall is the building's gathering place through winter and summer alike. Evenings pull everyone upward — the rooftop deck faces west toward the Ringling Bridge, which lights up after dark, and sunset over the bay is the building's nightly event. Beyond the seawall, the peninsula itself invites slow loops on foot, and the bridge path offers a longer walk with open water on both sides. When the evening calls for more, downtown's restaurants and theaters are a short stroll east, and St. Armands Circle waits just over the bridge.
